Background
Symptomatic osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, post-traumatic joint pain. Any joint applicable.
Procedure
Under local anesthesia and imaging guidance, needle inserted into joint. Corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid or PRP injected. Duration: 10-15 minutes.
Risks
Joint infection (very rare), post-injection pain, skin atrophy (corticosteroids).
Recovery
Relative rest 24-48h.
Practical information
Local anesthesia. Outpatient procedure (return home the same day).
